Indian Christians attacked over Jesus film

Two missionaries from the Indian Evangelical Mission (IEM) were attacked by Hindutva activists in Madhya Pradesh on May 14, 2007, at a screening they held of the Jesus film. They were charged with performing forced and fraudulent conversion. Both missionaries were badly beaten and forcibly taken to a local police station.

Malatya ringleader released into custody

Interrogation of the chief suspect of the murders of three Christians at a Malatya Bible publishing house continues, following his release from hospital. Emre Günaydın fell from the building’s third floor after reportedly planning and committing the brutal murders on April 18, in an attempt to escape from police.

Canada still pushing boundaries

The Rev Canon Charlie Masters, the head of Anglican Essentials Canada, says a recent statement by the Canadian House of Bishops telling ministers they can preside at Holy Communion with same-sex couples, but not bless their unions, goes too far. “[They] imply this is a holy relationship, which is to receive the full support of the church,” he told the Toronto Sun.
