Bible threat defied
The Palestinian Bible Society’s bookshop in Gaza has reopened after a forced closure. Masked gunmen threatened to blow up the bookshop if it did not close by February 28. It is the only place in Gaza where people can freely buy Bibles and Christian books.

Bishop targeted
The Anglican Bishop of Wusasa Diocese in Nigeria has survived a fourth attack by suspected Muslim militants. Compass Direct reports that Bishop Ali Buba Lamido, 47, says armed men entered his property and announced they were going to kill him.

Religion ‘ignored’
A senior Anglican cleric has accused the British Government of sidelining religion in its vision for the BBC, reports The C of E Newspaper. The Bishop of Southwark Tom Butler said Labour’s White Paper on the broadcaster failed to reflect the role of churches in society.

Ethnic cleansing
Myanmar’s (Burma’s) military has allegedly launched a new wave of attacks against Christian Karen villages. Christian Freedom International says the genocidal attacks on the ethnic minority have created a humanitarian emergency.
