Parishes will allocate 20 minutes out of one regular church service this month to take part in the National Church Life Survey. People over the age of 15 will fill out information about their experiences of church life for the five-yearly survey.

Ministers will receive information about their church’s patterns and trends, including changes in attendance, along with resources to help mission.

The cost per parish is approximately $1 per person. “At this stage, the Diocese has agreed to meet the costs, although there may be some opportunity for parishes to be generous later,” said the Diocesan Registrar, Philip Selden. About 7000 churches across 22 denominations are expected to take part in the NCLS, which is the largest survey of church life in the country. Sydney Diocese has been sent 60,000 forms.
