MOVES

After 10 years as curate-in-charge of St John’s, Wilberforce, the Rev Geoff Bates became the rector of Quaker’s Hill Anglican Church on July 24.

The Rev Brian Tung became the curate-in-charge of Sydney’s newest parish, East Chatswood, on July 1. The church was formerly known as Sydney Metro Chinese Church.

The Rev Dr Stephen Anderson will commence as the rector of All Saints’, Oatley West on August 15. He was previously the assistant minister at St David’s, Forestville since 2005.

DEATHS

The Rev Michael Hamaty passed away on June 20. He served as rector of Sylvania and Springwood and as curate-in-charge at South Creek. He is survived by his wife Deidre.

The Rev John St Clair passed away on June 22. He served in the Diocese of Gippsland as rector of Mirboo North and Orbost, as well as chaplain to St Vincent’s Hospital Darlinghurst and Westmead Hospital. He is survived by his wife Wendy.

APPOINTMENTS

Wendy Morris, Manager of Chesalon Community Care at Anglicare, is the organisation’s new Parish Partnerships Coordinator. She will work closely with parishes to support the development of caring ministry initiatives in partnership with Anglicare. Wendy attends Christ Church, St Ives.
