Planning

One of Reg Piper’s goals is to have each of the Parishes, each of the Deaneries and the Region assembling their own plans.  In order to facilitate this planning process he has put together the Ephesus Plan.

This is available from the Anglican Youthworks and is published by Aquila Press.

Deanery Visitation

Over recent years Reg has delivered three Bishop’s Bible Talks in each of the Deaneries on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Wednesday of the month.

On the 1st Wednesday he has a meal with the pastoral teams and Regional workers from the Deaneries.

On a Saturday in the same month there is a Prayer Day usually starting at 8.00am.

Ordination & Ministry:

In conjunction with Anglican Youthworks, the Wollongong Region has run Regional Camps for young men and women between the ages of 18-30.  These have been focessed on encouraging people in ministry, especially youth ministry.

Meetings are also held at Reg and Dorothy’s home inviting men and women who are thinking about theological study or cross cultural ministries.  The Regional Council has also provided grants for theological students from the Region who attend Moore Theological College, Mary Andrews College, the Sydney Missionary & Bible College and other theological colleges.  These activities and others are made to encourage people to think in terms of whole-of-life ministry, cross-cultural ministry and ordination.

To assist those who are thinking in terms of ordination to the priesthood/presbyterate, Bishop Piper has put together the following short questionnaire.

Prayer:

Reg has inherited a strong family tradition that persistent and believing prayer is highly significant.  He has fully supported the work initiated by George Piper who under Bishop Ken Short was challenged to get the Wollongong Region praying.  A prayer diary for the region is produced each quarter.
