Christian NT leaders face off
Natasha Percy
September 1st, 2008

Just four days before the Northern Territory’s election last month, the leaders of the state’s two main political parties addressed the local Christian community at ‘Make it Count NT’.

Northern Territory Chief Minister Paul Henderson, whose Labor Party narrowly won the August 9 election, has spoken publicly of his Christian faith, while opposition leader Terry Mills is a confessing Christian and former principal of Palmerston Christian School.

The Territory’s first ‘Make it Count’ event was hosted by the Australian Christian Lobby’s Northern Territory office, and attracted a crowd of 200 Christians from 15 denominations. The event was also webcast to Alice Springs.
