Christians aren't just a group of people who have a common set of beliefs about God. We are also people whose lives have been (and continue to be) radically and dramatically changed by God. As we share our experiences of God's power at work in our lives, others are invited to consider God for themselves. Including these stories on church websites provides visitors with the opportunity to explore the life-changing impact of Jesus for themselves, in the comfort of their own beanbag, before they might be willing to take the big step of visiting church 'in person'. The NewSpring Church website continues to offer great inspiration to other churches in this regard. The global navigation on the site is simple and easy to access, with the 'Stories' section given a prominent link on all pages of the site:

The 'Stories' section contains well-produced, attention-grabbing testimonies of God's power:

  • 'When cancer is a miracle'.
  • 'Food was my Christ'.
  • 'I wasn't alone in the car'.

The first video is particularly moving, and I featured it here last year. I can't think of any stories that challenge the culture we live in, more than those that are reveal God's people looking death in the face and approaching it with confidence. Visitors can search for videos by keywords, and can also see some suggested topics to explore:

There's also a link to share stories of how Jesus has changed your life:

The more I consider it, the more I think this section should be included on every church website.

Our culture loves video.

Our culture loves stories.

Our culture loves the internet.

As more people are online, as more people hear about our churches online or explore our churches online before visiting, the more this website content just makes sense, don't you think?
