As CMS begins its week-long Summer School, two mission-minded books hit the shelves that trace the historical and personal cost of witnessing throughout the world.

Colin Reed
Acorn Press
Colin Reed’s book records the East African Revival and its link to Australia.
He explores the key factors behind this Christian Revival that began in Rwanda in East Africa in the 1930s and spread throughout the entire East African region.
Some Australian missionaries serving in East Africa participated fully in the Revival while others stood back and regarded it with suspicion.
The visits of East African Revival leaders in the 1950s and 1960s also had an impact on Aboriginal Christian leaders in Northern Australia.

Bill Dennett & Jo Anne Ader
SPCK Australia
Bill Dennett and Dr Jo Anne Ader have written a joint autobiography that traces God’s grace in their lives.
Bill Dennett grew up, married and ran a successful business in Sydney.
Jo Anne was born in southern Texas, worked her way through medical school and became Medical Director of a hospital in Somalia.
The account of their early years of marriage after the death of Bill’s wife Aldwyn, and the amazing fruitfulness which comes from obedience to God is inspiring.
