Praying at Burger King

Richard Mouw is a professor of Christian Philosophy and President of Fuller Theological Seminary, California.

I was expecting the book to be more about how to pray and prayers for while you are eating at a fast food restaurant, but what you get is so much more. 

This book is something that can be read by anyone. It’s not an overly Christian Book, but each chapter has an issue that is discussed with a Christian focus.

It has small quick chapters that focus on a single point. It would not offend Non-Christians who would see the issues in a basic human/society perspective.

However being Christians helps see the reasons behind each of these points that he aims to discuss in each chapter which make them bigger issues for us.

The book contains some quite amusing quips that he uses to illustrate his points to challenge what you think but there is nothing that makes you want to rethink salvation or theology in itself.

One point it makes about God is that He didn’t leave us ignorant about how are to think and act on things.

He uses small inserts of scripture to back up a few points and so it is not overpowered by huge slabs of biblical text.

This would be a good resource in bible study groups to use as a starter for conversations and discussions on certain topics.
