GUIDELINES
As a Christian web site, Sydneyanglicans.net requires its community to not only speak the truth but to do so in love.

Sydneyanglicans.net requires contributors to register and post under their real names for reasons of accountability. We also ask you to state your parish in your profile. As the publisher, Sydneyanglicans.net could be held to be legally liable for comments posted. We believe it is helpful to create an environment wherein contributors are held accountable for their comments, and requiring people to post under their real names ensures that this is the case.

All messages posted at this site express the views of the author, and do not necessarily reflect the views of the owners and administrators of this site.

Community members agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented comments, or any other material that may violate any applicable laws.

Additionally, Sydneyanglicans.net reserves the right to remove material in the following circumstances:
1. When the material is considered to be blasphemous, offensive or in poor taste etc.
2. When the material is considered to be needlessly repetitive or argumentative
3. When the material is considered to be defamatory, libelous or otherwise legally actionable
4. When the material relates to a minor and the consent of a parent or guardian has not been granted
5. When the material is demonstrably inaccurate or based solely on rumour or hearsay.
6. When the material is determined by Anglican Media to be detrimental to the Diocesan Mission.

In the event that a community member knowingly defames another person or infringes the general guidelines for posting listed above, Sydneyanglicans.net will take action to remove the post and deal appropriately with the offending member. Contraventions will result in a warning with the potential for a two-week ban depending on the severity. Repeated infringements will result in a permanent ban, with the commenter’s service provider being informed in the most serious cases. The IP address of all comments is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions.

Community members accept that the site’s webmaster and administrators have the right to edit, move or close any topic at any time in the application of these guidelines and the smooth running of the site. Changes, developments and additions to this policy may also be made without notice. Members are encouraged to use the ‘report’ facility associated with every comment to notify administrators of any post they believe contravenes the site’s posting policy. While the site’s administrators will attempt to remove or edit any objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message and delays are to be expected, particularly when reports are being investigated.

Community members agree to any information they enter being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without their consent the webmaster, administrator and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised. This comment system uses cookies to store information on the user’s local computer. These cookies do not contain any of the information members have entered; they serve only to improve viewing pleasure.

All community members will have agreed to be bound by these conditions as part of the process of submitting their applications.
