National Council of Churches delegation returns from Sudan

Media Conference to inform of persecution in Sudan
and plight of those waiting
in refugee camps

A media conference will be held tomorrow, Tuesday 16th April by the NCCA delegation, just returned from a visit to the Sudan.

The delegation comprised Archbishop Ian George, Anglican Archbishop of Adelaide, Nick Kerr, Adelaide journalist, Ms Shehara Viswanathan, and Rev John Henderson, NCCA General Secretary.

The Conference will be held at 11.00am in the NCCA Boardroom, 7th Floor, 379 Kent Street, Sydney.

Archbishop George, Nick Kerr and Shehara Viswanathan will all be available for individual interview

In a wide ranging program, among other events the delegation visited Khartoum and the Kakuma refugee camp on the Kenya/Sudan border.

“We were thanked many times for the way Australia is receiving refugees from Southern Sudan,” Archbishop George said.
