Answering the 'church' of Dawkins

A summary of the MP3

Richard Dawkins is no arm-chair atheist sitting in an ivory tower somewhere in Oxford University, argues Dr Greg Clarke. Dawkins is out on street seeking to convert people to atheism and his belief that evolutionary biology is the most satisfactory explanation of life.

Greg Clarke starts by looking inside Dawkins’ ‘church’ and captures his devotees sense of hope at the publication of the God Delusion. There is much excitement amongst Dawkins’ followers that their view of the world, their belief that there is no place for religion in western society and their arguments for the non-existence of God, are catching on around the world.

Dr Clarke also critiques Dawkins’ book from a literary perspective and argues that much of Dawkins’ power comes from his rhetoric and not his argument.

Dr Clarke then goes on to offer responses to each of Dawkins’ five main arguments against God and religion.
