Gordon,

I know where you are coming from about all of creation groaning and if we were to stop there then I would have to agree with you.

However Paul tells us that passage about creation groaning is the anticipation of Christ and us as his children.

Rom 8:19 The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed

You have not adequately explained Romans 8:17 as to how a sick Christian is sharing in Christs sufferings because they are sick and yet a sick person who is not a Christian is not sharing in his suffering.

Rom 8:17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory

Hi Andrew,

I looked back through the thread and found where I did answer your question regarding God changing his mind through prayer.

Hi Craig

Now, this may be the WORST argument you’ve ever heard put before you about faith healing, but I thought I’d put it to you anyway.

I came across this little nugget the other day when Paul says to Timothy

1 Timothy 5:22-24 (New International Version)
23Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses.

If the healings of Timothy’s (or any believer) “stomach and frequent illnesses” and him getting better were only to do with his faith, why does Paul encourage him to use a little wine instead of exhorting him to pray the prayer of faith for his healing?

I’m sure you’ve heard this one before, I haven’t been able to read the whole thread either.

Cheers

Geoff

Hi Craig,

Was that to me? I don’t understand your point, sorry.

I haven’t forgotten that I said that I’d get back to you with the other stuff. Just hasn’t happened, yet.

Cheers,
Andrew
