Angela: rolling of the floor laughing!  Such things can only happen in church.

Robert: ;-) : there are some odd stained-glass windows out there: I haven’t seen “miserable people at Pentecost”, but at dinner last night a friend told us about a rather horrific one at her (RC) church: one of the saints who was flayed alive—he has his new skin on, and the flayed skin is draped over his arm (I think): ewwwww.

Ian—who has “Of the Father’s heart begotten” on continuous play: ‘tis a wonderful hymn! [/useless information]

Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and on those in the tombs bestowing life!

On a side note: used fonts make very nice bird baths (although make sure whoever is great-great-great grandson/grandaughter of the person whose name is on the plaque on the front NEVER finds out).

hahaha - that reminds me. We had a font that was pretty bad, so we moved it outside...it became a bird bath.

One day, the great-niece of old uncle Cecil (or whoever) rocked up to see the font that was donated when he passed away. Red-faces that day ;)

Ian,

This one is especially for you. When I was about 2 years old, the Greek Orthodox Archbishop visited our church around Christmas time. When I caught sight of him in all his regalia and with his long flowing beard, I shouted Santa Claus wiggled free of my father’s grip and ran to him asking if I could sit on his knee.

Yes there was a a congregation of laughing faces
