I’m enjoying David Jackson’s Crying Out for Vindication - the gospel according to Job, from The Gospel according to the Old Testament series, edited by Tremper Longman.

Has anyone read any of the others? There are quite a few in the series now, though you wouldn’t know this from the volume I’m using, which does not publicise its own series.

I’m with David on this.  A very helpful pulling together.

Another great book which helps us to understand the Old Testament is Old Testament Ethics for the People of God by Chris Wright.

Wright posits a triangle of OT interrelated themes: God, Israel and the Land, which he then relabels as Theological, Social, Economic.

Very stimulating book.

I’m sorry to say that Chris loves the word missional. Isn’t there another way to express the concept?
