It has to be something more substantive than advertising Christmas service times in the local paper… but it could be as simple fitting the usual Christmas carols into a wider evangelistic strategy etc.
Ideally it would involve actually getting out into the streets and meeting those who don’t come to church
Hi Jeremy,
I have recently set up a doorknocking team at my church (St Johns Park) - where a group of us have been going out the past two weekends (Sunday arvos), we are connecting with many people in the community to invite them to come to our church. I have come to understand that doorknocking is a good way to engage and connect with the community.
So far, we have had a few positive responses from the community - where there are people out there that are interested in coming to our church. And then we have seen others who weren’t interested. It is not the best ministry but it can be fruitful - especially bringing them to Jesus.
We are going to continue this ministry in December where we will be going out and connecting with the community and to invite them to join us for our Christmas Carols and Services. This could be a better way than just advertising this in the local paper - for we are seeing people face to face.
