Death of a Friend

Could you please pray for our friend Kellie and her month old baby Isabella?
Kellie’s husband Hank passed away this morning after months of treatment for a brain tumour. He was 30.
His faith in Jesus remained undimmed to the end.
He was a vibrant witness to all who knew him.

Please pray that Kellie will have courage and faith over the next few weeks and months.

Pray for our church as we seek to minister to her and the baby.  I’m hoping we can as a body be a support for her and a witness to our small community of the grace of God.

Thanks

Lydia

Sorry to hear of this Lydia.  There is no easy time to lose someone you love, but some points in our lives have extra dimensions that make it especially difficult—having just become a parent is one of those times.

Can I also ask members to pray for the family of Kyung Wan (Peter) Kim.  Peter was a chaplain with the Mission to Seafarers here in Sydney.  He died quite suddenly while on leave in Fiji, only 46 years old.  He has left behind a wife and two young daughters.

Praying that Peter Kim’s family and Kellie and Isabella may know God’s Fatherly care in this sad time and that their faith may be strengthened as they undergo these losses.

I feel v sad that a young father could lose his life in this way.  Even tho we know that he has been called by God into Eternal Life, it is still very hard for those he leaves behind.

It seems that we are about to lose a beautiful nun from our Catholic Cathedral here in Bendigo - cancer of the stomach, very advanced. It shall mean a huge Cathedral funeral and the loss to us in our earthly life, of beloved Sister Mary.  I am sure you shall be a wonderful support to your bereaved friend.

Pax, Lizzie Benedictine Friend.

And this morning at Trinity College chapel - a service for Brett Taylor killed in Mumbai. He was a close friend of one of our churchwardens who is godfather to one of his two teenage girls. Please pray for the service, for Paula, Brett’s widow and their girls.

With thanks

Prayers for all those effected by Brett’s, Mary’s and Hank’s sad deaths.
May God’s open arms welcome the blessed dead and enfold those left behind.
