My 21 year old daughter “dragged” me to achick flick during the holiday period. The movie was Juno but don’t ask me to tell you who the actors were.
The movie told the story of a 16yo girl who became pregant to her boyfriend on the first occasion of intercourse. The awkward bumbling relationship which saw a fairly tame sex scene att the beginning of the mvie was examined throughout the movie as they discussed the pregnancy, the options and finally her decsion to have an abortion. However a word from one of her classmates outside the clinic persuaded her not to proceed with the abortion.
The rest of the movie follows her journey through pregnancy and decision to adopt this child to a wealthy family through a private solicitor. The irony being the people who have everything but a child are dependant on someone from the other side of the tracks to fulfil their lives. Without spoiling it for those who have not seen it the movie takes an unexpected turn prior to the birth of the child.
For those who have seen it my question is do people think this might be a movie that reshapes attitudes to abortion?
