Yesterday my 90 year old mother passed peacefully into the presence of our risen Lord Jesus.
Fifty years ago she led me to Christ, on Christmas Day, 1957
We will have a most diverse bunch at the funeral, so spare a thought for me as i prepare a eulogy in which I aim to honour my mother, but especially her Lord and Saviour.

Oh David, I will be praying for the preparation of the Eulogy, where your mother’s life is honoured, and the Lord is lifted up.
Praying for you and family
regards
Gill.

G’day David,

I praise the Lord for your mothers promotion David and pray that your eulogy will bear fruit.

I’m also sorry for you and your families loss and pray that you will also allow yourself to grieve, fully knowing that there is a time to laugh and a time to cry, a time to live and a time to die.

Dear David,

Tears of joy and thankfulness to read your beautiful tribute to your mother. As a mother I can only hope and pray that my impact upon my children will be like that of your own beloved mother’s. My husband and daughter thought it beautiful and special.

May God provide all you need to give the eulogy which achieves what you requested.

Hi David,
Through the sadness & yet with surprising joy of knowing where she now is, I am praying that you not only can tell of her life & how the Lord mightily worked through her, but also that your relationship with her will be something which brings you many hours of memories to come.

I found some photos today of Dot’s mum who went to be with the Lord a few years ago, & it brought joy with the tears. Remember her good times, & we thank God for her, not just because of 50 years of rejoicing in her son’s salvation.

Rob.

What a wonderful legacy David.  I will pray for your witness and that of your mother’s life, amongst all the rellies and friends, as you speak boldly about the impact of the Saviour upon your mothers life and that of your own. As Angela said; as a mother - wouldn’t it be wonderful to be remembered in such a way (provoking others to seek and find the One True God) and to have been used by God, to bring our children, just that little bit closer to him.

What a blessing you’ve received.

Praying
Sharon

Hi Dave and my other great SydAng friends.
It would be much harder if my 88 year old very active, wonderful mother-in-law suddenly died than it was when Mum died, because Mum was suffering dementia, totally dependent on others and had also recently been diagnosed with lung cancer.

But despite the dementia, Mum recently recited the whole of Psalm 23 [which C S Lewis said should be always recited in the KJV by Act of Parliament]. And she still knew me [though sometimes she introduced this old geezer as her brother, because I didn’t look much like the little boy I once was] and sure knew that she was in God’s hands and was about to be promoted and transferred from the Belmont branch to Head Office.
