G’day folks. I’m interested in your knowledge of and reaction to John Gray’s book Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus. I’m hoping to use your input in my review of his latest book Why Mars and Venus Collide. I’m particularly interested if you have attempted to compare what Gray says with what Scripure says.

Thanks for your valuable input.

Have read only snippets of it, many years ago.

As a teacher though, I think there are some fundamental differences between males and females.

The way they learn, for example.

The way in which their mood can affect their learning progress.

Their level of need for and response to appropriate (and structured) discipline.

I could go on and on.

And I will.

But not now - must do lesson planning for school next Wednesday!

“She just said that [skipping + playing] is what children do,” said Roland.

Tiffany wondered about this. As far as she could see, children mostly argued, shouted, ran around very fast, laughed loudly, picked their noses, got dirty and sulked. Any seen dancing and skipping and singing had probably been stung by a wasp.

The problem with the stuff about how women learn different from men is that I always end up to be a woman!

I’m not denying there are differences between the sexes, though.

Yes Ray, I and most other men want to understand women better. IMO the “men from mars etc “ book is good light reading, makes some money for the publisher, but just disgorges facts that most people already know. The real difference between men and women is so great and entrenched that only something like the great flood of Noah would unearth the truth.
A recent doco on SBS illustrates to me just what this impenetrable and unmentionable divide betwen he sexes is like. An educated english speaking female jouralist went to Pakistan, that raw crucible of civilisation, to make a doco, with the President’s permission, about the tribal Mullahs in the rural lands that have been giving everyone so much trouble. Along with the President’s permission was a detachment from the army to protect her.
Her encuonter with the tribal eldes went fine and lively until she asked them why they had blackened out the faces of dewey eyed beautiful women in Indian movie posters.  The lustful stare of the male hero was left untouched.
The Mullahs slowly became uneasy, started mumbling among themselves, and then the army moved in to take her away for her protection. Interview over, the wall had come down.  Simple question isn’t it. Can you answer it?
