My post crossed with Mark and Craig,
I think “second birth” certificate is good too.

Thanks Terry, Mark & Craig. I’ve opted for your passport idea - very smart. Craig for your chapter 10, I’ve said that it has to get ‘scanned in’ at the end.
Working on Formalist and Hypocrisy now. I wonder if I shoud always give these people that Pilgrim meets a name? I guess on the other hand that is one of the features of the original - those great descriptive names.

How’s everyone else going with it?

Have we settled on Chris Traveller lieu of Christian?

I’m happy with Chris Traveller.

So far, I’ve received no feedback on Chapter 10 (so I take it it’s all good!)

Hmm, no I did have a comment. I wonder if we can lose the whole dream framing part. “And then I awoke...” is just not acceptable in 2008.

nor for that matter is the notion of heaven, hell, the incarnation, penal substitutionary atonement, the wrath of God, the forgiveness of sins, and the life everlasting. To name but a few.

However there was an entire season of the series Dallas which wrote off the previous season by having one of the main protaganists waking up from a dream! Can’t remember if it was the season where JR was shot or something different.

A bit different. The “it was just a dream” motif is rejected because it is considered horribly cliched now. I guess it was a fairly fresh idea in Bunyan’s day…

It’s beyond cliche… I don’t think removing it would really detract from the story at all either.

It’s only a denouement. You can pretty much write whatever you want, so long as it’s not the start of a new story.

Hey Gordo, have you decided to write a chapter for us? That would be great if you did…

And welcome aboard Lachlan Orr, who’ll be having a go at stage 4.

That means we have 5 and 9 left.

A reminder to everyone participating, we’re looking for chapters to be submitted by the end of March - two weeks from today will be sufficient. Let me know if you’re going to have trouble meeting the deadline.

Cheerio,

Mark

Hey Gordo, have you decided to write a chapter for us? That would be great if you did…

Missed this.

I offered to do some other work for Mark, which I also haven’t done (sorry Mark). Best to lie low with any new commitments at the mo, things have been a bit full on I’m afraid.

Anyway happy to toss out a few ideas. Surely there ought to be a UFC combatant in your chapter, Craig? ;-)

That makes March a very short month indeed !

Ack! My apologies, I meant to say the beginning of March, but allow for a two week lee-way for those struggling with too many tasks :P
