Hi all,

Sorry for marked absence on fora. Will explain when I’ve found an understanding fora sister who will listen to my issues and not dismiss them. Regret that I do not trust brothers in this issue. No offence intended.

At present, I consider myself in some need of your prayers.

This Sunday will be presenting testimony & talk to kids at Sunday School...as I prepare, would appreciate prayer that:

* the process of getting an old video copied onto DVD might run smoothly with no glitches
[my tape is nearly 25 years old and NOT in pristine condition, so it’s a worry, I’d really like to use a clip from it to complement testimony - three tiny girls aged under 7 reciting Luke 2:10-12 word perfect at a Christmas concert];

* in the event that something goes wrong, God will graciously empower and equip me with an appropriate back-up plan;

* I will be faithful to God’s Word in my preparation, declaring it fearlessly as I should;

* I might have sufficient energy to prepare well (am very tired and drained at present, not sure why);

* God will work through everything for His glory, that His Word be accurately spoken, that I may share clearly and simply about His work in my life.

Thanks…

In His service,
TZ.

“She just said that [skipping + playing] is what children do,” said Roland.

Tiffany wondered about this. As far as she could see, children mostly argued, shouted, ran around very fast, laughed loudly, picked their noses, got dirty and sulked. Any seen dancing and skipping and singing had probably been stung by a wasp.

Hi Tia

Sorry to hear that you are so tired. I am encouraged by your hard work and desire to do a good job.

I pray you will have strength and wisdom as you prepare. May God have mercy on the children so that they put their trust in our Lord Jesus.

Let me know how it all goes - would love to hear more
Di

Thank you sisters for your prayers. They have been much appreciated.

The testimony/talk is written, it all seems to be ready - but as you know, “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (EPHESIANS 6:12).

May God graciously open doors for His message, that I may proclaim the mystery of Christ. And please pray that I may proclaim it clearly - and fearlessly - as I should (COLOSSIANS 4:3-4 & EPHESIANS 6:20).

Thanks again,
TZ.

Wrap-up:

Thank God that…
* the DVD clip worked excellently well
* the testimony was heard through without any disruptions
* the kids were settled and seemed engaged (except for our 4 y.o.’s, but that’s expected for that age, I ran for 7 min. and that’s a big stretch for most pre-schoolers to concentrate for)
* the kids showed they were listening (at least to part of it) by asking some questions afterwards

As for the rest - well, I did try to be faithful to God’s Word, and the rest is up to His Spirit to work in their little hearts…

Thank you once more for your prayers!

TZ.

This is a request for continued prayer:

Our Sunday School is in need of more committed Christian teachers.

Please pray that God will graciously give us more teachers, as we are quite understaffed at present.

Today, owing to a special service, we had lots of extra kids. In number, it was the size of a small school class (<24 kids from preschool ages to Y6 -with preschoolers accounting for the majority - and including me we only had 3 teachers, so a ratio of approx. 1:8 - not enough for kids ages 3-5). To our disappointment, a few other kids not numbered among the <24 above actually had to stay with their parents, since we lacked adequate SS staff/teacher numbers to effectively cater for some high level special needs among them (needs that would be serviced in weekday school by, e.g., one-to-one teacher’s aiding or learning support assistants).

We felt bad that we did not have the sheer people power to manage these kids - not least because their staying with parents meant that parents couldn’t enjoy the 10:30 morning prayer service.

Please keep us in prayer - for God’s own reasons, we have not managed to retain many of our previous teachers or find new FAT^ ones to join the team.

Thanks,

TZ.

Tia, Isn’t this fabulous that you have so many children coming to the Sunday kids programs at the Cathedral!  This is very encouraging to hear.  I will certainly pray that more gifted teachers and carers become available for this vital ministry.

Kindest Regards
Sharon
