Just been in to Moore books and picked up an armful of kid’s books, which I started to blog about here.

So I am wondering about what you are planning to buy in the way of Christian books for your children/grandchildren/nephews/nieces/Sunday school kids and why, and what you would recommend for others.

Not just what you would recommend but why.

Too early to say. Waiting for the catalogues to be posted to me.

But woho hey!  Just received today a christmas catalogue from Matthias Media. Not much kid stuff in there unfortunately. Now to wait for SU, and Bible Society.

Church budget means sunday school is limited in what to buy. Usually need something around $5 or less per child. So Children’s Bibles not a goer until we become a mega church.

Gordon
I have just bought my second copy of Colin Buchanan’s ‘Remember the Lord’ devotional book.  I have a 5 and 8 year old and they love it.  Each night we read about a different song from the Remember the Lord CD, look up the related passage in the Bible, sing the song, pray the prayer and look for the tiny Colin hidden on each page.  It also comes with a read with me CD with a few of the songs included.

I also bought another ‘The Big Picture Story Bible’, it is a great tool for Scripture teaching or any Children’s ministry.  I bought a stack of Beginners Bibles for kids in year 2 or younger.

For my kids I bought some radio theatre CD’s; “The Secret Garden’ and ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’.

For adult friends I got the Linage of Grace by Francine Rivers (audio version).  My wife and I loved the books that retell the stories of Tamar, Rahab, Bathsheba, Ruth and Mary so we sent a set to my missions friends in China, and now we hav just bought it again.

Mind you I got all this at the 20% sale at Koorong, so this will hopefully suffice for a year of gifts not just Christmas.

Thax <><
