As a shameless plug, we’re running a men’s BBQ in the Springwood parish on Friday Aug 24 where Gordon Cheng will speak to the question ‘how would Jesus vote?’ and take questions.  7.30pm Blue Mountains Grammar School Preparatory Campus, Tusculum Rd Valley Heights, $7.  If any blokes are interested they should send me an email or PM.

A shameless plug indeed !  ( Go for it Craig, I say. )

A few questions and problems arise ;

(a) Are you cooking anything other than sausages ? Buns or bread ?

(b) What do you do if women turn up ? Declare them to be ‘honorary males’ for the night ? ( Hey Heather, what do you think about that ? )

(c) ‘how would Jesus vote?‘ Well I trust that Gordon mentions the importance of firstly being properly enrolled ? And will the Electoral Office insist on seeing Jesus’ original birth certificate before processing his application ?

(d) I see no problem in sending you an email - but sending you the PM might be a problem. I think John howard is busy elsewhere that night.

Cheers, Kevin

I’m just trying to think if there is a single woman I know who would consider that an ‘honour’.

Hi Craig,

I was actually thinking of married women - rather than just a ‘single’ woman.

BTW are you trying to be PC or just trying to impress the ladies - or have you recently liberated the feminine side of your brain ?

Cheers, Kevin

Craig doesnt have a feminine side of his brain.

Neither do I - therefore I am unable to argue with you.

Hi Craig,

I ‘googled’ my memory - and I think it was in “The Three Amigos” - but then again ?

Cheers, Kevin

After googling, I found a similar phrase shows in a film : Challenge back in 1985

Sorry for the suspense, I was away from the computer yesterday.

I was paraphrasing the great sage

He is almost as wise and funny as Gordon, who will be addressing the question ‘how would Jesus vote?’, Aug 24, 7.30pm BMGS Preparatory Campus, Tusculum Rd Valley Heights...[see previous post further up for rest of shameless plug].

Thanks for the reminder, Craig!

You might pray for my voice, which is a bit croaky at the moment, but hopefully will be firing on all cylinders by Aug 24.

It’s good timing for a talk addressing these issues isn’t it? Maybe this is something other churches ought to be looking at doing. Great for the public profile of the church, and a real opportunity to embolden Christians to connect one part of life, ie politics, with their faith.
