Angus, I’ve been running it through validation check without issues....
I can’t remove “[Quote....”
I will look into what is possible to strip out tomorrow.
Hi Robert
I’ve got the Sydney Anglicans RSS feed set up on my firefox browser. It seems to work well and the drop down menu is showing the last 30 posts as expected.
I’m wondering though - can the RSS drop down show a bit more information to tell if there has been a new post to the most recent thread? For example, the time of last posting or the number of posts for each thread could be shown. Also in the drop down, I see a “RE: “ string prior to the thread title which could be done away with I reckon.
I’ve been working on this RSS all day. I have found some issues with it, because it doesnt show if a thread only have 1 post (the creator of the thread). Hopefully I will figure this out soon.
I agree about “RE:” in the title for now, since it doesnt show threads without replies for the moment.
If you use a more advanced RSS reader than FireFox (rss bookmark), it will show you (time) when the latest post was posted.

Hi Derek. I think it’s primarily the function of the feed reader (not the feed itself) to indicate which items have changed since the last feed update. (Date/time elements for feed items although common are optional according to RSS specifications.)
Hi Robert / Angus
Thanks for your replies. I’m rather new to this RSS thing - anyway I downloaded KlipFolio and added an RSS feed from Sydney Anglicans - it seems to work OK. When I mouse over a story on the RSS reader, it brings up a window with a preview of the story including a timestamp - very nice. The firefox reader seems rather simple by comparison.
Hi Robert
I seem to have problems viewing the latest updates via the RSS viewer (Klipfolio) I use. What I mean is that there are recent posts on the forums not being displayed on my viewer even after I do a refresh.
If its something I’m doing rather than a site problem, please just ignore this msg. This issue aside, I really like how the RSS viewer I’m using is able to consolidate data from different sources.
Hi again Robert.
I’ve found another bug which stops this feed displaying in my linux browsers (ie Konqueror and Firefox) and it also breaks in Windows Firefox. It appears that an ampersand hasn’t been encoded where it should be. (Here’s a screenshot).
