[PR] Prayer for non-believing family

I hope this thread can allow all to post their need for prayers for unbelieving family members.

I know this probably comes alot but I really need some prayer for my family at this time.  I’ve just finished a discussion with my mum and dad in which both of them were adamant that they both haven’t turned away from God nor have they sinned and so thus see no need for repentence, forgiveness or salvation.  My mum has said more than once that she would be fine with Christianity if there wasn’t so much emphasis on sin.  I’ve tried to explain to her that Christianity is all about the saving grace of God, that even though we’d turned away from that he offered us the free gift of salvation.  My mum and dad’s views hurts me greatly as I love them deerly.

Similarly my younger brother is not in Christ, the adamant atheist, he follows the Dawkins line and is veiled to the truth of salvation.  He believes there is no God.  Each discussion I have with him he focuses on religion’s problems (ie that of religion as an institution) and totally ignores the fact there is the revelation of salvation through Christ.

I pray for each of them each every day and have done so for a couple of years now.

Please can you pray for them as well.  That God may open their hearts and that they may be saved.  That they may be able to here God’s word.

Similarly continue to pray for all unbelievers!!! I urge you! If any of you have family or friends that you want me to pray for I will do so most williningly, just post here.

Yours in Christ,
Nicho

Re: [PR] Prayer for non-believing family

Hi Nicholas,

This is not a request; I’ve been praying for one friend for nearly 12 years and he still doesn’t believe.....but God has mercifully made him more open than he was 10 years ago.

God loves our unsaved families, friends & others significantly more than we do!  He is patient, not wanting anyone to perish, nor taking pleasure in their death - but wanting everyone to repent, to be saved, to come to a knowledge of the truth that is in Jesus Christ our Lord!

So keep praying.  You never know how & when God will work…

“She just said that [skipping + playing] is what children do,” said Roland.

Tiffany wondered about this. As far as she could see, children mostly argued, shouted, ran around very fast, laughed loudly, picked their noses, got dirty and sulked. Any seen dancing and skipping and singing had probably been stung by a wasp.

Hi Nicholas

It is great that you have been faithful in caring for your family by talking about Jesus. I know from experience that this can be quite challenging. Will pray for your family. And for opportunities in the future.

cheers Di

Nicholas,

thanks for sharing your burden for your family’s salvation.

Like Tia, I have been praying for my own family and that of my husband’s for years. Recently God has graciously answered our years of prayers in regard to one brother. Another brother was saved soon after my husband’s own conversion.

I encourage you to be like the widow who relentlessly pursued the corrupt judge for justice. It is such a privilege to pursue our God with a heart burdened with love for our families and for the gospel.

May God mercifully answer your and our prayers with each and every memeber calling on the name of Jesus.

prayerfully
Angela

Praying for you, I’m not very far behind your situtation.
