Hi there. 

I have a prayer request I would like you to hold up.

Today, my wife and kids and I began the loooooong laborious process of (trying to) becoming LPR’s - that’s lawyer speak for ‘legal permanent residents’ of the USA - also known as getting our Green Cards.

This process is going to cost us somewhere in the vicinity of $20000 when all is said and done.  (thats like AU$27K).  We’re missionaries - and we sure don’t have $27K.

So, we are hoping and praying the miraculous will happen.  The call to mission here in the US is long term for us.  I just wish God had sent us to Africa where its a bit cheaper!!  hahahaha.

Please be praying for my family.  This will take about 18 months, every penny we can just about hope to make (and with God’s help a whole heap of pennies from people who would support our ministry), and then some.

God is doing some amazing things in this country.  Contrary to what you might believe, America by and large is a country wrapped up in a patriotic nationalistic pre packaged christianity.  And at its worse, this watered down version of the gospel has no room for Jesus.

Mate. Sounds laborious. Why not just shred your papers, hop on a slow boat to Australia, and arrive acting a bit confused. We’ll treat you right for sure. When the mess gets sorted out, you’ll be able to claim enough compensation to fund greencard applications for you and 200 of your closest friends.

Anyway, I pray that God will guide you into many wonderful opportunities to talk about Jesus and his sacrificial death for sins. Amen.
