There was a Gordon Bennett in the Oz letters today!

HOW can Telstra, or any other listed company, give a “rock-solid” guarantee on the level of future dividends? And if Telstra did give such a guarantee, in the hope that sufficient investors would be persuaded to take up shares in T3, how binding would it be and for how long?
