No wonder my kids groan at my dad jokes. Hmmm for old times sakes.

There once was a Owen who was known for his hoeing. The spring came along and he was sprung singing a song, and then cursing the alarm as it went ding ding a dong, for the hour had come one hour too soon as his hand shook holding the spoon think oh why couldnt he sleep in till noon.

Now the Latest Discussions box is 2 hours wrong…

Someone’s been ‘tinkering ‘ with the system apparently. I just went in and TURNED OFF the ticked ‘Daylight Saving’ button in my account - and my time ( which had gone forward an hour ) has now reverted to what it currently should be.

EDIT : No - now it’s an hour forward. I think I’ll wait until tomorrow to see if it sorts itself out - or gets some help from the tech’s. In other words - as Fagan sang in ‘Oliver’ - “I think I better think it out again”.

Your system time on the reply is showing correctly, now, Kevin.

But I think that the latest discussions time is still wrong.

No, on my screen your last post is shown at 9.18pm and it’s just turned 8.54pm - so I’m now an hour out on my computer.  My localization is currently set for “Sydney’ at ‘Daylight saving’ - so it’s still a mystery as regards my settings. Thanks for alerting me, Andrew.

Cheers, Kevin

Kevin,

I’ve turned OFF the daylight saving setting that you suggested the other day. My screen still shows your penultimate post on this thread as 8.18pm, which seems to be correct.

You may want to try that?

Cheers,
Andrew

Edit - the latest discussions bar to the right shows me having made this post at 10.39pm, whereas it is only 9.39pm!

It seems the latest discussions bar shows the same time regardless of what time settings you have.

Thanks Andrew,

I turned ‘off’ the daylight setting as you suggested - and ‘normality’ has returned - at least on my screen. Go figure !

Maybe the ‘time continuum’ ( “Back to the Future’ reference ) has been affected by Manly’s win over Melbourme Storm in the NRL. ( I still cannot understand how I came to barrack for the “Silvertails” ).

“It’s life Jim, but not as we know it .” ( Star Trek reference of course )

EDIT at 10.54pm :  Yikes, it’s only 9.54pm !!

I can’t understand how you can even watch that game.

“It’s life Jim, but not as we know it .” ( Star Trek reference of course )

Never watched the show, so ‘of course’ means nothing to me.

Cheers,
Andrew

One of life’s little mysteries - but not to a sports-lover ( even if I prefer AFL ). BTW did I tell you that “2008 is the year of the mighty Hawks’ ?

“It’s life Jim, but not as we know it .” ( Star Trek reference of course )

Never watched the show, so ‘of course’ means nothing to me.

Perhaps ‘OFF course’ then ? Never heard that opening refrain.....“Space… the Final Frontier.. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before....” ?

Well, anyone who wasn’t around for the ‘23rd century’ TV series can catch up with the next ( 11th ) theatrical film due for release on 11 May 2009. Actors will include Eric Bana, Winona Ryder, Chris Hemsworth ( Home & Away ), Leonard Nimoy ( playing Old Spock ) , Ben Cross ( Chariots of Fire ) and Simon Pegg ( Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead and Run Fatboy Run ).

Oh joy, oh joy… beam me up Scotty !!!!

Not sure if it’s just me, but I’m having trouble with the timestamps of posts on this forum - sometimes the time is an hour ahead sometimes not. Does anyone know the fix?
