Hi all,

I have two (possibly three) left over tickets to the Katoomba Women’s Convention. I made a group booking a few months ago but I over-estimated how many women from my church could attend.

These tickets are for the first weekend. 13th - 14th September.

If you would like to purchase these send me a PM.

Cost for each ticket is at the reduced rate of $54. This is the price I paid for them at the early bird rate. (Normal cost is $64)

FREE POSTAGE (express post) upon receipt of payment.

Payment can be made by direct deposit into bank account. These details can be sent to you upon contact with me by email.

More info about the Women’s Convention can be found at http://www.wkc.kcc.org.au/

Heather.

It’s the best convention KCC has ever come up with (apart from KYLC). I love it and go every year.

Go sisters, go!

Tiffany wondered about this. As far as she could see, children mostly argued, shouted, ran around very fast, laughed loudly, picked their noses, got dirty and sulked. Any seen dancing and skipping and singing had probably been stung by a wasp.

Just got back. It was really worth going. I love WKC more than any other convention KCC has to offer.

Sisters, if any tickets should become available for weekend of 20th-21st, do seriously think about going!!

Hi Tia,

That was my first Women’s Convention. But I grew up on Youth Convention so the experience wasn’t totally foreign to me.

Took 5 other women with me from my church.

Some of the women attending came up with the unique idea of sharing a ticket as it fitted into their family schedule better that way. So a couple of them came to half the sessions. Now we’ll buy the talks so they can catch up on the sessions they missed.

I personally thought today was the best day. The two topics on Complete Forgiveness and Complete Living were excellent were unmissable. So those going next weekend should not miss the Sunday session!

HI Andrew,

Surprisingly YES!

Men are most welcome ..... if you are happy to volunteer to be in the bookshop, help as a car park attendant, be an usher, setting up, packing up, assisting with the MT and lunch breaks.

The committee still need helpers for next weekend.

Be brave and say yes.
;)

Heather.

PS I bet you weren’t expecting that answer.

Hi Heather
It’s an interesting (and understandable) idea that they came up with.  I’m not sure, however, that KCC would appreciate it.  Our ladies had some who went up for one day, but they still paid the full rego.  That’s been standard KCC practice for some time.  So if people are going to share tickets, it might be worth talking to the KCC office to get their take on it.  I’m sure that the ladies concerned wouldn’t want to find that they’d been unintentionally ‘stealing’.

Bob

Hi Bob,

Thanks for sharing your concern.

My position is that I was over the moon that they could attend for whatever little time that they could. Every session was worth listening to. The ladies who shared a ticket both had young families. And sometimes it just isn’t possible to leave the family for a whole weekend. Parenting and motherhood is a big commitment.

These ladies shared their ticket because they went home when they weren’t there. We are fortunate to live in the Blue Mountains.  They were not staying in accommodation close by but actually went home to attend to other family and church commitments.

These are expensive tickets to let go to waste. Included in our group was another lady who did not share her ticket but could only attend on the Sunday. So we had a mixture of needs amongst our friends.

I was also praying for a non-christian single mum to attend. But that involved a whole lot of different needs that we couldn’t bring together this year. Maybe next year when her childrern a little older we could do something for her to be able to attend.

So I understand it may not be ideal to share tickets because that is so difficult for the convention committee to manage. But for our personal needs it helped some ladies to receive spiritual teaching and encouragement that they would not have received otherwise.

Our life circumstances are sometimes more complicated than we at first realise. So if this arrangement causes offence I apologise, however, I greatly appreciate that we are all One in Christ Jesus as is the slogan for all Conventions in Katoomba. Our motivation was never to defraud but to see women in my church to be spiritually enriched.

Thanks.
Heather.

Hi Heather
I have no problem with any of your reasoning with regards to the ends you were pursuing.  My only point was that [bold]if we use Convention tickets in a way that is outside of what KCC intends or allows, we should seek their permission to do so[/bold].  I have shared a ticket with someone myself on one occasion, but I spoke to the KCC office beforehand and they were happy for me to do so in the circumstances.  What I wouldn’t want to see happen is people reading your post and feeling that it gives them licence to make independent decisons as to how they use Convention tickets.
Regards,
Bob
