Rodger (or Roger - I’m unsure after looking at your website),

These forums are provided as a place for discussion and interaction, not simply for placing large amounts of links to other websites and articles.

We are happy to have discussion on a wide range of topics on these forums - including the existence of a real, eternal hell - but I get the impression that your intent is to proselytize and draw people away rather than engage in genuine discussion with other forum members.

The fact that we are not the first site to be bombarded with links by you would seem to confirm my suspicion.

I must respectfully ask you to desist from this practice here.

Even some threads can start to seem like an eternal torment !

And I’m certainly glad it isn’t listed under “Our Hot Topics” :)

Hey Angus, perhaps we could start a new “hot under the collar” category.

To Allan Dowthwaite:

I don’t perceive myself as a “proselytizer. I just want to share the info that enabled me to recover from a twelve year nervous breakdown 1966-78 in the hope that it will help others too. I’m 69 now.

According to the many positive messages in my guestbook that is accessed towards the bottom of my front page, and the many positive emails that I have received, and also according to the many positive messages in the tentmaker guest book, our information is helping many people. (My guest book only holds 150 entries then the oldest ones get replaced by the newest ones.)

http://www.tentmaker.org/visitorcomments.htm

Read how other people have also been unable to successfully cope with the idea that God lets anyone suffer forever.

For many years I used to argue details day after day on just a few individual forums, but now my chosen agenda has changed to posting the information that enabled me to recover from a twelve year nervous breakdown (1966-78) on many forums and guiding people to where they can find answers about that information. I don’t take the time to personally deal with many individual questions and arguments any more. Some forum managers don’t like this, but according to my guest book and the many positive emails that I have received, this method is really helpful and bears much fruit. I am reaching many more people this way. But to each his own method of operation I guess.

I would just like the surfers and lurkers on this forum to know that during my 69 years of living I have never encountered an argument that has not been refuted that tries to prove that a correctly (not interpretively) translated Bible does not teach universal salvation.

Rodger you’ve lost me in all those negatives ;)

I’ll try to reword it with a positive.

ALL of the arguments, including the ones posted on this forum, in support of the Bible teaching “eternal torment” or “annihilation,” have been refuted through the search engine at http://www.tentmaker.org

Copy and paste this url into the address bar.

Go to the search engine at the top of http://www.tentmaker.org and type in a key word or phrase from any argument or scripture passage. Ten articles will come up refuting the claim that the Bible teaches eternal torment or annihilation. Then click to the next page and ten more articles will come up, and so on and so on for many pages.

IMHO, the only reason why people will not do this is because they WANT to keep believing in “eternal torment.” For me the truth is as simple as that!

Rodger,
You appear to be deliberately flouting the rules of the SydAng forums and also an explicit request from the CEO of Anglican Media Sydney to desist (see above). I’m going to flag your post as spam because that is what it appears to be. This is a discussion forum, where we discuss, and is not a valid venue simply to promote your own and related websites. Please find another venue for that.

I don’t understand Angus. I thought that I AM in fact participating in a diaglog.

Someone says something, and I say something back, and so on and so on.

I’m just more wordy in my replies than the other posters.

What do you think?

Rodger,

I think you’ve given yourself away!

Your claim to be

participating in a diaglog.

is somewhat disingenuous when a few posts earlier you clearly state that your

chosen agenda has changed to posting the information that enabled me to recover from a twelve year nervous breakdown (1966-78) on many forums and guiding people to where they can find answers about that information. I don’t take the time to personally deal with many individual questions and arguments any more.

As you also said,

Some forum managers don’t like this

I’m afraid I’m one of them!

I not really interested what people have posted in your guest book, I’m far more interested in what people are posting on these forums and as I said earlier, simply posting a seemingly endless list of links is not appropriate.

Right everyone, let’s cut to the chase.

I’d like Bible references to answer the following questions:

(1) Where does the Bible teach an exit from hell?

(2) Where does the Bible teach that all humans will be eternally happy in God?

I said BIBLE REFERENCES.  At this stage I don’t want any commentary on them.  Just post up your BIBLE REFERENCES re. the above two questions, and no others, WITHOUT saying anything about them.  Then we can all discuss whether those references really teach those things or not.
