Anyone want to talk about the Olympics?

To start people off, here, is a tangentially related article from today’s SMH:

THE Olympic torch relay has been chaotic, poorly managed and at times almost laughably reverse-spun. In other words, it has made for great TV. Turning their back on a century of simpering Olympic piousness, the Chinese have delivered a truly stunning advertisement for the limitations of humankind.

The whole thing has been so compellingly watchable, it seems almost trite to point out that the elements that made it such a success must now be incorporated into the Olympics proper. Consider equestrian events. Some people think of them as sport.

And so on!

Have you heard of the latest Chinese attempt to nobble our olympians ? They’ve banned our national food - vegemite !

Beijing bans our athletes’ Vegemite

April 30, 2008

VEGEMITE is now a banned substance at the Beijing Olympics, following China’s decision to stop the Australian team taking its own food to the Games.

In another example of the iron-clad control Beijing is trying to exert on foreigners, Games organisers have told Australia it must obtain all food from within China.

It is understood the Chinese have introduced the ban to maximise revenue for local food producers.

The policy is an abrupt departure from previous Olympics, when Australian athletes have been allowed to bring in foods to meet their strict dietary needs.

The Daily Telegraph newspaper has learned the Beijing Organising Committee for the Olympic Games added an unprecedented clause in its freight manual outlining the ban. ...........

Hmmm I strongly believe that Christians should not be watching or taking part of the Olympics. Seeing as every Olympic torch relay starts by being lit in Athens by a bunch of women priests worshiping what ever greek god it is they worship. We too take part of that false worship when we get involved with any part of it.

This should be particularly so for Sydney Angs as we know the official position against women priests who preach Jesus - how much more should we not partake in any event led by pagan women priests?

I only know Dalai Lama is not teaching Christian stuff at all. He must know who the real God is, otherwise he will be in big trouble later..........
