There is a video of Dean Phillip Jensen’s conversation with Kel Richards on the subject of pornography here.

I wondered if forum readers who had watched it had any comments on the content.

I think it was full of wisdom, straightforward, and very sober.

I remember when John Chrysostom was trying to set the record straight on those who believed that the body was inherently evil; you can see in his homilies of Romans in chapters 7 and 8, that he goes at lengths to dispute it from Scriptures.

I think this was also written by C.S. Lewis, “Christianity is almost the only one of the great religions which thoroughly approves the body- which believes that matter is good, that God Himself once took on a human body, that some kind of body is going to be given to us even in Heaven...”

Anyway, back to the video, I think it really paved a way to understanding Christian chastity.

I think, however, we need to discuss more ways to fight against the pervading sensuality and commercialism of sex. “Sex sells”, so the saying goes, and it is very difficult for us to arise from this. I really like St. Augustine’s Confessions, and the Biography of Anthony by St. Athanasius.

Yes, I thought it was intelligent and humane, which is an incredibly rare combination in a discussion of this nature. I’m not persuaded by the interpretation of Mt 5 that was offered early on in the interview, but as Phillip was essentially saying that it is irrelevant to the topic at hand, it didn’t affect the substance of the message.

Kel’s a fine interviewer too, you can see why he has such respect at the ABC.

Although there is indeed a passing reference to rabbits in the discussion, the current picture advertising in the SA forum sidebar (for ‘The Chat Room’) is CREEPY.
