East Maitland outreach

Please pray for St Peter’s East Maitland outreach night on Friday. A church service to remember those who have died recently to which all who have had a relative whose funeral was at St Peters in the last few years are invited and at which there will be a short gospel presentation and after which there will be a supper. All low key and (its hoped) not threatening but there’ll be an invitation to know Christ better. And then later some followup.

Please pray for those leading and for those who will attend.

ITs the first outreach attempt for a long time (thanks to our new minister who has been here not quite 3 months).

Peter, great idea for outreach - a minister friend told me recently he doesn’t do non-Christian weddings any more as they are useless for outreach - but always will take a funeral - much better opportunity.

Just remember though, the gospel IS threatening - it is an offence. It is a command, not an invitation.

Not only for outreach.
I suspect it will have a better outcome if the primary goal is to take God’s love and comfort, via the medium of human love and comfort to those attending.
and
I suspect this is the M.O. of this new priest.
