We are not out of the woods yet, folks.
We would value your continued prayers. Yesterday my daughter and her husband visited their little boy, who was all hooked up to ventilators and other stuff and sedated and thus unable to be hugged. So different from the first birth!
He needs a ventilator, because babies on sedation can forget to breathe.
But he may soon be coming out of sedation and also be allowed to breathe unassisted.
Yesterday he used his repaired waste system, for which we are grateful. Not being a parent of a young child, I feel a bit strange when I hear parents going into graphic details about their babies’ bowel actions, but you can understand we are excited that his system seems to be working normally.
Cathy hopes she can give Hamish a hug today. She is looking forward to breastfeeding him as soon as she can.
Thanks again, friends for your prayers and support.
Spare a thought for the grandparents, 3 of whom, including me, have only seen photos, so far!
