Peter,

Thank you for the update regarding Sophie and your sons. You gave us much to give thanks to our good God.

[edited at parents’ request]

2 Cor 1: 3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 5For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.

prayerfully
Angela

Id like to thank those who have been praying for or asking about my family. Sophie despite 4 seizures that have ended her in hospital this year so far is doing well she is even trying to speak which is quite amazing. She is walking further -up to about 500 m at a stretch.

But the real thing I want to share with you is to thank God for the provision of Medicare (and yes I think it is appropriate to thank Him, -we are told to pray for our Governments, surely that includes thanksgiving for the good things they do)

Today Sophie went to Newcastle to have new orthotics fitted (yes thats one of her problems too). We were in the chiildrens outpatients clinic at John Hunter Hospital. While we were there there were three other children -2 of them babies -being treated in the same largish room. The hospital is clean, bright colourful and more importantly well equipped, the nurses indeed all the staff are all well trained , friendly and helpful. From listening to the others talk I heard that 2 of kids came from a housing commission area and I think their mothers were single parents (one of the mums came with her mother the other with her father neither spoke at all of their partners)

It is so good that all these facilities are available to all people t without distinction between rich and poor, social standing, the only qualifcation being need.

It made me very grateful to God who has made such provision for us.

Hmm
How odd Mr Kirsop.
I had not even a hint that this thread was current but this arvo found myself praying for you and Sophie and then wondered what you thought of the new Carers party. (politics and prayer, perhaps appropriate)
