Thanks Tia. It’s encouraging for us all to hear things like that. God indeed does work through nervous little messengers of His gospel. Whilst thinkng globally about God’s big world, you and I get to play our part by acting locally in our small corners of the same world. Glad too that you’ve been “freed from the slavery of school reporting at last”. My wife has reached that point too - what a relief - but there’s still other paper work to contend with before it’s all over.

Cheers, Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Did your wife have to do the old reports or the new A-E outstanding-limited ones?

We Y6 teachers at my school chose the new ones and after my last post in early December, I had to do 2 more editions before they were safe enough to give to the parents!

“She just said that [skipping + playing] is what children do,” said Roland.

Tiffany wondered about this. As far as she could see, children mostly argued, shouted, ran around very fast, laughed loudly, picked their noses, got dirty and sulked. Any seen dancing and skipping and singing had probably been stung by a wasp.

Hi Zia,

Lynette teaches Visual Arts in Year 7 - 12 in a private Christian school. Her reports are quite detailed in their feedback to parents - so they know exactly where little Johnny or Jane are up to in each subject.

All the pupils receive a % mark for each subject - plus they are ranked in position for the whole year in Years 7 & 8, and then ranked in their individual classes in Years 9 to 12. Total feedback which the parents enjoy - and expect.

Have a Happy New Year - and a restful summer holiday.

Cheers, Kevin
