-Saul’s conversion in Acts 9
-The life of Job. There is enormous potential with Job 38-41 to show the power and majesty of God.

However, I believe a couple of the entries are from overseas participants. While we appreciate your contributions, the passes are only valid in Australia, so while we can all enjoy the movie ideas from our overseas forum members, I will not be honouring them with a movie pass.

I was thinking the same! And I was working on a modern version set in Oz with the ABC’s Kath and Kim in the roles of Naomi and Ruth but I didn’t get far...probably a good thing.

My other choice was:Jesus Unplugged: the book of Revelation. BIGGER than Lord of the Rings,]]]scarier[[[ than Alien...meet the victorious Risen Jesus who outgrew the manger long ago; see the great prostitute, the dragon, Satan and his demonic company thrown into the fiery lake of damnation; rejoice with the angelic host, the martyrs, the elders in Jesus’ victory of evil; witness the most beautiful bribe clothed by her beloved groom for their divine union; be awe-struck by the new heaven and the new earth....

I was thinking more traditional myself!!  Last night as I was mulling over the script possibilities...it ocurred to me that the story of Ruth and Boaz has a heap of potential - you have the tragedy of death at the beginning; the internal conflict of choice in following Naomi - going to a foreign land, poor and with a sad mother in law to look after; working hard to provide food and having a nice man notice you (I’m sure the movie makes could play that up!)....I would just want to make sure the ‘threshing floor’ scene was done tastefully - many people seem to misunderstand that part of the story, IMHO - and then the joy of marriage and motherhood...all culminating in a great grandson who becomes king of Israel....and a great great great (etc) grandson who is Jesus Christ.

Yep - potential.  Also possibility of exploring Boaz’ character...whom I think given the context of the book of Judges, is a DSL.

Sorry - DSL - ‘dead set legend’.....meaning I have a really high opinion of him, think he’s amazing, a really Godly man.

I heard some great sermons on the book of Ruth, by Melvin Tinker a few months ago - and came to appreciate how Godly Boaz was.

BTW, the Matthias Media bible study on Ruth is one of their best.

OH which to choose, which to choose.....so many pitches, so few letters....

Why not:

“Malachi, the Messenger” - {panning up to enormous huge carved wooden doors several stories high half open} he’ll deliver news no other man has dared deliver: that God is back, he ain’t happy and he’s slamming the temple doors.  {doors slam excruciatingly loudly} It’s no mean message to deliver, but it means a message of deliverance {panning back wider and wider to then see the doors off their hinges with blazing fire engulfing them}

Personally I think Mal 1:10 is one of the best verses - it really underscores just how much we cheat God to his face and just how tolerant God is of that sort of behaviour. 

But, brilliant as my ideas may be, as I live in Perth [*deep sigh of resignation*] I suspect I too will be ineligible for tickets given that I am in all reality further away from Sydney than michael is in London and Mike is in America somewhere, and even further from the 21st century than ever (even though they did vote in daylight savings time last weekend!  Yay!  Some sanity at last!) I miss Sydney, but I am enjoying going to a great biblcal church in perth, Western Suburbs Community Bible Church www.wscbc.org.au
