Praise God, Melbourne Diocese has successfully chosen its new Archbishop, and God has blessed us with one who looks very fine.

Very fine indeed! Praise God!

And here’s some reportage on the outcome.

Anglican Media Melbourne:

The Age:

There was a palpable sense of relief among the majority of synod members tonight to have elected someone that most of the diocese has endorsed and who is likely to be able to relate across most of the church traditions and styles in the diocese.

I’m sure that Bishop Philip would value our prayers as he comes to terms with the big move that this implies for his life and ministry.

A friend told me that he was a good guy. We should pray that he stays true to the gospel!

Heaps to pray for!

Godwilling AB-elect Freier will be AB of Melbourne for 19 years, so there is heaps of potential for long-term strategic gospel ministry under a single AB.
