Uncommon Prayer

I’ve recently started co-ordinating our morning church prayer. I’ve encouraged our pray-ers to consider using set prayers, as well as writing their own.

To assist in this I’ve put together a collection of prayers - “The Page of Uncommon Prayer”. Here is the link - http://pageofuncommonprayer.blogspot.com/

I’ve taken the prayers from a variety of Anglican and Lutheran liturgies, and I plan to add to it as I come across prayers I like. For simplicity, I have divided all prayers into three types - Praise, Confession and Supplication.

It may be useful to some of you. If you know of any good prayers, please point them out to me.

Craig,

What a brilliant idea, brother. Many thanks for taking a brilliant idea and making it a reality. I’ve read the first page and am very taken by your choice of prayers.

This collection of prayers is a great service and benefit for anyone, including those who pray publically at church.

Anyone reading this post, pleaaaaaaaase don’t delay: read these prayers courtesy of Craig’s good work.

many thanks
Angela

Craig,

a good list of prayers there

It would be appropriate for you to identify where you have taken them from and provide the copyright details for those that currently do not have them listed.

Most of them are old prayers that I’ve updated the language to. There are a couple with copyright and I’ve put that in.

and add Thanksgiving

thank You Craig
i have always found liturgical prayer and the more formal prayers (Which ‘collect’ our thoughts and channel them) to be very helpful. Yours add to the variety i plan to print them out once arranged into groups. can anyone add to them by the way ?
