As the parishioners left St James’s in King Street after the 11am service on Sunday, two fire engines came roaring up King Street. The burning incense used in the high church service had set off the smoke alarms. A case, indeed, of Holy Smoke.

Hahaha…

:killingme: hehehe

*snort* But who would’ve put in a fire alarm in a church that uses incense? *rolleyes* Still, the thurifer must’ve been brewing a cloud that morning, for it to be thick enough to set off a smoke alarm…

;-) : he he he.

St James the Great seems to be having a lot of fun with fire this year.  A friend from my parish, visiting for some feast earlier in the year, was present when one of the flames from an acolyte’s candle set fire to the priest’s robes!

Without missing a beat, the priest continued on [according to my friend], signalling to those behind him to beat out the fire with the Bibles they were carrying…

Bible bashers indeed!
