Does anyone know—is there any book-length response to Spong? If there’s not, I reckon one is needed.
Such a book would have to be at the accessible, popular level, as that is how Spong himself writes, and it is in stores like Angus and Robertson that you’ll find Spong’s books (alongside the Dalai Lama, last I saw). Perhaps a book in response to Spong could be sold in those stores too—a kind of Christian coffee-table book! The response would have to be both intellectually incisive, and engaging and readable (I’m thinking John Dickson-style). I suggest it also construct a positive tone, arguing for “true relevance”, rather than a combative tone of “attack and destroy”. Its aim would be not to demolish Spong’s proclamations but to win over those he woos.
What do people reckon?
