Hi all,

We’ve had a steady stream of new members over the past few months, but some of them seem a little shy. So I thought, how’s about everyone (old and new) post a little bit about themselves by way of introduction, and maybe that will encourage some people to come out of lurk mode. Post as little or as much as you want, even a simple “hi” would be fine. I think the regulars should definitely chime in too, so I’ll kick it off:

I’m Luke, I’m work a couple of days here at Anglican Media (was f/t last year) and study p/t at Wollongong uni. I go to church at Petersham Evening Church , which was started by a student ministry called FEVA . At the moment I’m interested in health, health, and also health, and all things geek (but not Star Trek geek… thats more “nerd” lol ;)

I’m Bec. I lurk much and post little! I study TESOL at UTS although my full time course includes a mere 2 face-to-face hours a week and is all on a pass/fail basis which makes me a very bad student indeed! My current procrastinatory interest is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I’m a big reader, especially fantasy as I am a fantasy freak, but lately I’ve been reading more classics. Umm… I go to church at St James Anglican in Croydon and am involved in a wonderful christian uni group called UCATSA.

Bec, that’s all well and good, but you have skirted the big question: innie or outie?

G’day blessings. My name is Craig.

I attend St. Marks Anglican Church in Picton NSW. (not New Zealand.)Where I am involed with the leadership of th echurch as a church warden, lay preacher and synod rep.

I am also involved in ministry involving issues of “Father Hood” and stirring us all up to “Prayer”

I accepted Christ through the ministry of that Church at the age of 14, backslid bigtime from the age of 18 to 29 and truly dedicated my life to the lord at 30.

I studied for and recieved Diploma of ministry, and started a BA of ministry through various circumstances had to discontinue study. I may pick it up again soon.

I am married to a wonderful wife and we were married in Dec 1997, I have 5 boys from 14 months up to 16 years, of whom the eldest 3 are step sons and have one dog.

Rowan I do have a question - “What is an “innie” or “outie” ?

24 years old, All Saints Petersham, just an average single Aussie bloke that enjoys quality red wine, opera & theologians that sound profound while spouting complete rubbish. Evangelical with an Anglo-Catholic fetish.

Although I tend to be more ‘innie’, I prefer not to align myself wholesale with the innies or the outies or the innie-outies, but rather to continue to reappraise my navel status in the light of a persistent fresh reading of scripture.

M

P.S. Craig - too much information.

Hello,

Christian, male, single, 32 yo, lawyer.

I don’t live in NSW so I guess I’m an outie, whatever that means.

I attend St John the Baptist Old Cathedral (Anglican) in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia and I am involved in the leadership of the parish as a Churchwarden, Secretary, Pastoral Assistant (preaching and leading worship) and synod rep (you know the saying. ... if you want a job done give it to a busy person).

Well done on this website Luke - it is a great place to talk about issues in our church and the world.

I’m Dani (sometimes known by my mother as Danielle when I am in trouble… or Danielle Elizabeth when I am in big trouble). I’m still reeling from turning a quarter of a century old back in May and attend St Johns Anglican, Maroubra.

I work as the administrator for a church (that I don’t attend) and a campus ministry (at a university I didn’t go to)- and currently have a desk covered in paperwork (hence my work avoidance techniques by posting on here). I also freelance in web and graphic design (in the wee hours of the morning), make and sell handmade greeting cards and have somehow found myself tutoring people in giftwrapping at a community college next term (no.. don’t ask). I’m also trying to kid myself that I am managing to save money in order to go to Moore College in 2005.

I loathe all things Star Trek/Star Wars- much to the delight of my best friend who’s nickname for me is Trekkie (refer to my surname) but have been a recent convert to LoTR. I’m a Les Miserables groupie and an Amazing Race addict.

And I refuse to divulge the anatomy of my belly-button on the grounds that it may incriminate me.

Rodney, have known Christ since university in 1985, I am married and have 3 children.  I had an intesting start to church going to a very charasmatic campus based one.

I go to a “sensible” Anglican church in Condell Park - we have just “lost” our minister to another church so life will be very interesting after early October when he goes.  Any interest out there as an assistant minister in a s.west suburban church, part of a two-church parish?

I work for a company in Parramatta as financial controller.  No accounting jokes please!!  I have heard them all and can guarantee their inaccuracy - I for one don’t know any boring accountants, well maybe just a few.

I have been reading with interest many of the posts over the last months and confess to being rather intimidated by the length, depth and quality of these.  I would feel rather inadequate were I to reply to some of them.  This is about the first one I have been game to participate in.... but then perhaps that’s just the accountant in me.

Last time I looked mine was “in”.

Hi all

I’m a follower of Jesus, 23, married late last year, and part of the church family at St Pauls at Wenty.

I work in a little accounting firm in Lindfield and usually lurk here at these forums when I’m on hold to the Tax Office and sipping a cup of freshly brewed coffee.

Looking at doing MTS next year. I am a voracious reader, a lover of rugby, a coffee snob, a consumer of the SMH (always taken with a grain of salt;), a curser of Gordon Cheng and Claire Smith (Why are their letters always printed and mine never are?!?), and have been described by one of my friends as “an hardcore evangelical who is lower than a snakes belly” (whatever that’s supposed to mean, though it probably explains some of my posts).

I’m an innie, I scrunch whilst completing crosswords and I hope not to get an earache when I am next in Brazil .

I’m Mike - and I have a new laptop!  (just thought I’d gloat - just briefly...........gloat........ok - over that one now).

I’m married with 3 kids, was once a candidate for ministry in a different church in a different state, but now I get to travel the country in itinerant ministry....this weekend I’m in Brisbane (pauses to gloat again).  Last weekend it was Surfers Paradise (**gloat**).

I like all types of music (I’m listening to Aled Jones at the moment - wow, what a voice!!!!).

My favourite theologian is Ned Flanders…

I’m generally an innie - unless its full up with blue lint.
