I think Steph may have been a little shocked to see the reality that Tom wasn’t going to stick by her.

I hope she can pull something out in order to stay in next week.  Maybe the girls out numbering the boys can pull something off.  Don’t think it will happen tho.

I love Tom- but am a bit disappointed that he was going to vote for Steph (although we don’t actually know he was GOING to do that - perhaps he was trying to lull everyone into a false sense of security and vote for Greg or someone else). I think Steph has now overtaken Tom as my fave so if she can get some alliances going good for her- as long as she plays smart and we don’t see someone like Katie or Jen win.

I must say, I was cut to see Steph go.  I hope Katie or Jen don’t get much further, they really haven’t done anything at all, yet I spose look at how far Scout and Eliza got!

I’m picking Caryn is going to go pretty far. And I’m not sure I mind actually… I think I quite like her.

I’m back gunning (perhaps futiley) for Tom again now (in between screaming at the TV ‘What about Gregg & Jen!? Don’t you guys get it?! It’s Rob & Amber all over again!’)

Survivor: Palau

So Tom huh?

As has been said in earlier posts, Tom was a man’s man. He was very strong and smart, and it was an easy choice in the end between Katie and Tom.

I just wish Ian could’ve keep his big mouth shut.

I’m glad that he won.  It’s better than Katie and working as a fireman it seems to have some form of justice, cause I’m sure they’re not as well paid as they should be.
It’s always so sad when there’s the descent into “he said” “she said”.  That being said, I think that Tom did the right thing in voting off Ian, but I thought that he should’ve then turned around when Ian voluntarily gave up the challenge after 11 hours, 55 minutes and said that Ian should go with him to the final two.
Katie’s defence was pathetic - “I chose the two strongest people and attached myself to them” - I mean, come on, really, she was a disgrace to womankind.
Now, Steph, on the other hand, is a girl I admire!

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

I am extreemly glad that Katie didn’t win.  Although, the way things panned out, she had no chance with any of the jury!  I was a little in shock that she blatently threw Janu’s vote away when there may have been a chance of getting her vote (slim as it may have been!).

All in all, I am glad that Tom won.  I must say, I would’ve been happy with either Tom, Ian or Steph winning.

Now what an earth am I going to do with Tuesday nights until next series starts?!

* Find a hobby
* Read
* Go out with the Jesus Cares team
* Pray
* Fling your television off a cliff (ok, that will only take up one Tuesday night, but I garauntee it’ll be immensely satisfying)
* Go for a walk
* Do a community college course
* Learn how to control the urge to say things like “choose life”.... oh hang on, no - that’s something I need to do.... sorry…
* Play an instrument
* Call another Christian and encourage them

So many options.....

Regards,

Dave “Kill Your Television” Ruys.

Yes this is an excellent idea. Tom still would have won and the two best people would be at the top two.

Katie’s defence was pathetic - “I chose the two strongest people and attached myself to them” - I mean, come on, really, she was a disgrace to womankind.

I’m not in a position to judge for womankind, but it is fascinating how many gender issues came out of this season of Survivor.

I was happy for Coby to make a breakthrough with some of his (gender related) issues - but USA is a scary place if you can just decide to adopt a child that easily. I was hoping that if someone like Coby can realise he can play “sports” and can compete “among men” and be strong and “one of the boys” in a way that he has never realised, maybe there is room for him rethinking all the gender issues in his life…

Dave Ruys, I am so sorry that I didn’t make it clear that I was having a joke with my comment.  I thought that I had made that clear, I will endeavor to do better next time.
Thank you for your thoughtful suggestions, I will keep them in mind for future reference.

Oh, I see. My mistake. A mate of mine asked me the same sort of question recently about Big Brother or something, so I tried to think of alternatives for him (he isn’t Christian, so the suggestions were a bit different).
