‘Dead Horses’ Forum
The motivation for having a Dead Horses forum is not so much to stop people talking about a topic as the removing of threads that threaten to limit the healthy discussion your.sydneyanglicans.net hopes to promote. They might do this in a number of ways:

- they may contain so many posts that they are almost completely unreadable;

- they have slipped so far off topic that they become too general to be helpful;

- they have become polarised to the point that what little discussion continues is likely to be more abusive than informative; or

- they have become psuedo-blogs for a limited number of individuals, characterised by long, double and triple postings that do little to encourage conversation or interaction.

This isn’t an exhaustive list and sometimes it is just obvious that the thread that is being stretched out is just another exercise in flogging a ‘dead horse’. The editor is more than happy to receive requests from forum users to have a thread moved to the ‘Dead Horses’ forum. These can be made via the ‘report’ link attached to every post.

‘Dead Horse’ threads remain open for those who wish to flogging the proverbial but new posts will not appear in the ‘latest discussions’ blocks.

In summary, our intention is to prevent certain types of unhelpful behaviour rather than the discussion of any particular topic.
