New conference - Unleashing the Mission-Shaped Church!
George Lings and Bob & Mary Hopkins will be visiting Australia in June to six one-day conferences in Sydney, Melbourne, Launceston, Orange, Brisbane and Canberra.

George Lings is the Director of the Sheffield Centre, a mission research centre in the UK. Bob and Mary Hopkins head up Anglican Church Planting Initiatives (ACPI) in the UK. They have recently joined the Archbishop of Canterbury’s newly formed Fresh Expressions team, examining new ways of ‘doing church’.

The conferences will look at how churches can be ‘unleashed’ for mission. In the morning sessions George Lings will lay the theological foundations; followed by Bob and Mary Hopkins looking at ‘fresh expressions’ (ie new forms) of church. The afternoon workshops will tackle a range of practical issues.

The conferences are being sponsored by Church Army Australia, Gospel Outreach Ministries and the Taskforce on Mission (Anglican General Synod).
